Need to remove my xm receiver from my 05 avant can someone please tell me detailed instructions.....

It sucks, but here goes:
Remove all interior trim from driver's side of trunk/hatch area. This requires removing the load area floor (pulls out), the metallic trim piece at the tailgate (four torx screws), the tie downs (couple torx screws each) and the side panel itself (1 philips, numerous clips - the rearmost two are a biotch - very tight).
Once you have all of that out of the way, you will see a black plastic piece at the rear of the exposed area. It is held in place by two bolts and a nut. Remove those and you'll find the XM/Sirius receiver tucked inside it. Undo a couple clips and it slides right out. Why Audi chose to have it mount from the back of the plastic panel instead of the front (where it could actually be removed/serviced/etc.) is beyond me.
Hope that helps.
