New Acquisition
Hello all,
After a year-long quest to find a clean, low-mileage, reasonably-priced B6 S4, I finally landed one last week:
http://clients.automanager.com/013763/VD.html?VID={DA508824-AB73-9847-BD23-D3A1A6DDEAD5}
I found it on Craigslist Tuesday evening, called right away, and was on the road from Southern California to the Bay area that evening (took 7 hours with construction traffic).
I saw and drove it the following morning and it was mine that evening for about $26,500. It's build date is 11/03, so it's out of the problematic VIN range. It runs and drives like new. Wow, what a car. I'm completely stoked!

sweet ride
I may be joining you in a couple months. I'll be looking for a ride almost exactly like yours, just in moro blue: 6MT, grey interior, wood trim.
were you really looking for a full year?

Re: sweet ride
Thanks guys. Yes, I've been looking since about this time last year, virtually every day, and often more than once a day. I wanted a 2005 silver or dolphin gray car with a light gray interior but couldn't find one in SoCal with 6 sp, low miles nice shape and reasonable. Every car I called about was sold already. I called 13 local dealerships one day and none had what I wanted. I finally decided to expand my search to 2004 cars, black or white exterior, black interion and the Bay area. I found one right away, then.
What I've learned is that Cars.com, yahoo autos and autotrader.com are full of old ads - a complete waste. Craigslist works a little differently, and is devoid of a lot of stale ads. Good luck in your search.
