New allocation information

New allocation information
Just talked to the sales manager at the dealership where I've placed my order and the news isn't great.
Last month I reported that there were no allocations for June, which proved to be correct. For July, on or about July 8th, an allocation of 74 S4s was made for the entire country, which means one car for evey four dealers. My dealer got an Avant.
The problem continues to be engine availabilty. The engine is used in the S4, A6, A8 and I was told today, also in a few new VW models.
The sales manager made it clear his frustration with the pace of delivers. He has deposits on at least 31 S4s.
On a cheerier note, he invited me to come by today or tomorrow to see the first RS6 they received.

Probably, but if you are outside the top 10 GOOD LUCK...
I was told that the new S-line requires new machinery in the tech dept...hence large volume dealers make money back by servicing...smaller shops lose out due to expense incurred by new equipment and smaller volume

Re: New allocation information
Im suprised My dealer doesnt have any news of when they are getting any of the 20 that have been ordered so far. On a side note 3 weeks ago they got 3 RS6's. What a cool looking car.

Well, not so as dealer here is not in top 10 yet but ...
has received allocation for 2 in June wich will be delivered in late August or early September, No allocation for July, will get new allocation numbers on July 23. The dealer is also getting in 3 factory cars in the late August or early September timeframe, most likley will keep one for testing.

I'm sure they will need a few new tools but the motor is in several cars Audi sells.
The engine diagnostic tools should be the same for the A6, A8, and S4. I'm sure they have some tools that are unique to the new S and that would add some cost but not alot. Many dealers opted out of the RS6 because they were going to have to spend upwards of 60k to outfit for that one car. You would have to move many RS6's to make that one profitable.
