Just placed an order for a new S4 for June delivery. Just was wondering if you think $1,500 off sticker is a good deal or not? I probably could have done better if I took a car off the lot but I wanted a specific color with specific options and I needed a June delivery as my present lease expires in June. Not sure if it matters, but the dealer was located in the Connecticut area.

I took a 24-hour test drive this weekend with an S4 and am now seriously considering getting one. I would probably get a stripper with only heated seats and metallic paint. If I could get all of this for $45k, I would be a happy man.

What dealership were you dealing with?

Danbury Audi. I checked with New Country, Fairfield and Anchor Audi as well. Anchor gave me slightly better than $1,500 off but I think the Danbury dealership is better or will be better once they open their new facility near the airport. Plus, they're closer to where I live. I also got very few options in the car. Premium package, metallic paint and 4 spoke multi-function steering wheel.

You only get a free loaner at the dealership where you buy your car. That is what I've been told by my service rep and a service rep at another local dealer. I found that to be so absurd that it was almost unbelievable! That is unheard of with a high end dealer. I've owned Lexus and Acura and never had such a crazy thing said to me.

Good thing I didn't buy that dark blue S4 at a dealer in Atlantic City. They were going to give me $4000 off sticker. But I really wanted black with the silver alacantera. I sacrificed a thousand bucks to get the car I really wanted. The dealer I bought from gave me $3000 off... With a lot of haggling!
