You may have seen my post below that says I'm bummed because of the bleak picture two dealers have painted for me.
I decided to try a third dealer... a little further out, but worth a shot. They have 2 Avants already on order, neither of which are spoken for. I just need to get my deposit back from the one dealer and give it to the other dealer. Only downside is that its not 100% exactly the car I would have ordered... but I can live with that. Only difference is color--I originally wanted Nogaro, this one is Brilliant Red (wife liked this color better though so
) and it doesn't have enhanced interior. Everything else is there (Premium, Black Silk Napp-heated, Infotainment XM, 4 spoke, sunshades) [edit] oh yeah, and its a manual 6 speed :thumbsup:
My question is what should I demand from the dealer as far as delivery date, tracking of the car, etc? He told me he's expecting it in October...
I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Help?!?! I'm excited!

If it's not coming until Oct...
it's probably not built yet which means you might be able to change the options and color to your exact specifications. (Just don't order Polar White 
Get a commission number from the dealer. You can call Audi Distribution to find out what the build date is. I have a build date of Aug 10. My delivery is 'expected' on Oct 14. BTW, go with Nogaro. I'm doing Brilliant Red and the less of those on the road, the better.

The three spoke wheel is a sportier, thicker steering wheel, more along the lines of the M3's wheel. The 4 spoke, while it has cool gadgets, is not as thick or sporty...i guess a matter of preference.

Called dealer back... good chance they may be able to change the order. I'll know tomorrow for sure. Either way, things are looking good. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I agree with you in principle. In this case though, the only way that I would feel like I'm settling is if I went out and bought a 3.0 Avant or a V70R or some other car.
I want the 4.2 V8 - manual.... and I want an Avant. Everything else is secondary. So no worries, no doubts where that's concerned. The color really is not that important to me. Brilliant Red was on my list of preferred colors going in. That said, I'm still exploring the possibilty of amending the order. I'll know tomorrow.
