Default OT. Talk about torque!...

Just found out that my aircraft will generate 47,000,000 lbs of brake torque when I reject a take off at a weight of 39,000 lbs at 8000 feet above sea level from a speed of 135 knots (150 mph). WOW, thank God for the multi disk brake assembly (4 per wheel) Carbon Fibre rotors. No wonder they cost $25K a piece to replace.

Back to the simulator to have some more fun!

That is all for now.

Default when are you taking off 8,000 feet above sea level?

If you reject a takeoff, do the thrust reversers also activate or is it all braking?

Default Ground spoilers are deployed automatically, backed up manually by the flight spoilers and...

Trust reversers.

Aspen Colorado is above 8000'. Toluca Mexico is at 8400' we also go often to eagle Colorado (Vail) in the winter and that'a at 6500'.

This aircraft with the right "paper mod" is certified to take off from a 14,000 foot above sea level airport in China! It's crazy!

Default Before I retired, and when I had a meaningful job, I was a carbon brake disc....

geru for the V22 Osprey brake system. There is a specialty application here as the aircraft requires a high 'static' coefficient of friction...carbon doesn't have it as carbon 'needs' to be heated (like 750 C+) to 'work'...but we (my company) made it work at low coefficients with proprietary procedures. Tell you all about it next time we meet. Been doing a/c carbon brake disc work for 25+ years. :^)
