Default Ok. I still am not sold that a BBK on our cars is going to yield shorter stopping distances.

I'm sure they will fade less, and probably stop shorter after the 20th stop.

But put on a decent pad and these brakes are going to stop with the P-TT.

For example, I was reading an article in European Car. It was their Golf Off, or whatever. A competition among Golfs. Most of them had BBK's, Stoptech, Alcon, aP, you name it.

Who had the best braking distances? The stock R32. Every time.

Default No argument from this side of the room. But it explains why some shops insist...

Default Oh, certainly. I think we might have read the same article? ;-)

But yes, going from 18's to 24's your probably going to want some more brake force.

I'm talking about my B6. A BBK would look great, probably resist fade a lot better, but wouldn't yield shorter stopping distances. Our binders are so tight (for a one piston system), tires are probably the most limiting factor, besides pads. (And we've got that taken care of now!)

Default you have point, but $$ is the real reason they insist and if you change from heavy

steel wheels and all season tires on the SUV the diff cant be that much.
