popping noise fixed...
Apparentely it was part of the control arm brushing, there is a plate underneath, and it was pushed up causing the arm to hit it. So all it needed was a little adjusting. Total time in shop 5 hours.

See, what did I say? Didn't I say it was some sort of plate or shield? 5 hrs = "little"??these guys
are really taking advantage of Audi's warranty (that's a big bill for AoA...well I guess not as big as the other stuff that's been happening and needs fixin'.)
