Proper Pressure for ContiSport2 Tires?

Proper Pressure for ContiSport2 Tires?
I picked up my shiny new 2007 Ibis White S4 Avant on Saturday; what a wonderful car! But here's a question for the group: The car came with Continental ContiSport2 tires, and the inflation sticker recommends 44 lbs. of pressure all the way around. Does this sound right to you all? I know it's a different tire and car, but that's just a much higher pressure than on the Michelin PilotSports I ran on my last TT (a 3.2). I imagine the sticker is right, but I just thought I'd bounce the question off you all. Grazie.

44 all around with PilotSports. That's what my sticker says.
Read the manual, too. I remember the tire pressure section talks about a lower pressure for added comfort. I may lower mine one of this days. Rear passengers are complaining about the harsh ride.

The lower the pressure, the softer the ride. Also less treadwear atlower psi
I got 11k miles out of the stock Contis @ 35-36 psi. No track time, no street racing

Re: Proper Pressure for ContiSport2 Tires?
Thanks much; you all have confirmed my suspicions. 44 all around just doesn't feel right, so I lowered the fronts to 42 and the rears to 40 and it smoothed out considerably. I'll run this set-up a bit and see how it works.
On a related note, all I can say about the new S4 Avant is...holy s**t. Wow, what a car. Cheers.

Re: Proper Pressure for ContiSport2 Tires?
So I checked the manual and on page 308 it lists full load and normal load tire pressure. The recommendations for full load is 44 all around and for normal load (up to 3 occupants) 44f and 32r. Seems quite a difference between front and rear, but I tried it today and the ride is a lot more comfortable. BTW, this is for a B7 sedan. The B7 has new springs and dampers, so I suspect the recommended tire pressure for a B6 is different and the Avant may have different recommendations as well.
