Default Recommended octane for B6 S4...

There is one thread that was talking that in Europe they recommend 98 in the B6 S4 that equals about 93 here but could somebody tell me what is the recommendation in the US owners manual?

Thanx

Sylvain

Default I run 93 in all my audi's

Just on principal, better for the engine overall.

Can you get 93 in CA? Don't recall seeing it anywhere.

Default The flap over the gas filler says 91...

In general the best gas to use is the lowest octane rating that the engine will not pre-ignite (ping) under your driving loads and atmospheric conditions. A higher octane rating than you need will make the engine run hotter than necessary. This is one case where more than you need is not better.

Default I think they recommend 91 because...

That is usually the highest octane we see in most US gas stations. In Europe they run higher octane as compared to our market. The normal super in Europe is a higher grade of gas in terms of octane and sulfer content. It's just better gas period due to the refining standards they have.
