Is the S4 too much car if you don't go to the track?

Absolutely not. One of the most comfortable and enjoyable cars I've ever had the privilege...
to drive. A comfy cruiser around town, or an absolute blast on the high-speed corners. It's compeletely up to you how you want to start your day. :-D

OT: It may be a photoshop, but that RS7 in your pic poster looks nice.

Great for everyday.
I've owned a B5 S4 a B6 A4 3.0 and now own a B6 S4. All were great daily drivers but don't try to compare the A4 to the S4. Two different cars. Once you own an S4 you can't go back. I tried. One is a high performance car that is extremely well mannered and one is a well mannered underpowered sports sedan. The S4 provides what I consider a well ballanced ride with the POWER that is necessary for daily living.

Power that is NECESSARY?
I hear you. I have an A4 and a TL Type S.
I much prefer the TL Type S for daily driving because there's no turbo lag (good for switching lanes) and knowing that i'm one of the fastest cars on the road is key for merging decisions etc.
But to be honest, I seldom go WOT on the TLS and am constantly frustrated with WOT on the A4.
I guess that's why I'm looking for an AWD car that will do 6.5 seconds 0 to 60 with no lag (CVT will do it but not Tip Quattro 3.0)
S4 may be overkill because while I drive enthusiastically, I don't autox, track, go to meets, etc. etc.
