So I founds a couple dealers that can get me on the RS4 waiting list. Id be number 3, any idea
of how many allocations each dealer will get. I actually found 2 dealers that can get me number 3. One is in a bigger town but they want 5k, the other is perhaps apt to get less allocations but who knows. They only want $1k, $5k is a little ridiculous, but if it guaranteed me a spot then I guess it would be worth it. Any ideas on dealer allocations?
thanks

The car is not officially coming to america.
No dealer knows their allocation.
No dealer has a VIN to match.
Most Dealers will be lucky to get 2 or 3.
As its been pointed out I guess I'm lucky to live in a large market where money is not needed to be on a fictional list.
The only reason that does make sense if a dealer (on paper) guarantees MSRP or less.
Other then that it is my opinion that anyone who gives money to a dealership is getting taken advantage of and will most likely not get the car.
If this car is near as hot as we all think it is, then it will be the employee's (and their families) people who are repeat Audi Buyers and "friends" of management/top dealers who get this car.
1250 cars is not alot. Gets very thin when the larger markets like LA and the dealers in New England will get larger allotments then the rest of the country. (Based upon RS6 and S4 sales in the US).
Good Luck Buddy.
I hope everyone on this board that wants an RS4 gets and RS4 for MSRP or less.
Just don't touch my Sprint Blue! Nite nite Folks!

All dealers did say at MSRP and they all have waiting lists so I guess a lot of people believe ..
they are coming. Even if it turns out they do not, interest on $1k for a year is only $50.00, not a big deal. However, if it gives me a greater chance at getting it then I suppose its worth it for me. The $5k is a little crazy.
I think I'm in agood market - Northern California.

You pretty much nailed it Mr. Smahty Pantz......
it's true though.
AoA's policy is a $500 deposit for ANY car.
Any car that the dealer can match a VIN to.
Dealers that ask these crazy amounts of money to be put on a 'list' should be reported to AoA.
Yes, we'll get the car here in the US.
BUT, until the dealers have an options list, with msrp and prices to take orders, NO money should be asked for.
I know alot of dealers are making folks give deposits.
I guess I'd be comfrotable with the AoA $500 dep, but jezz....
1K, 5K ???? are you serious ?
Beverly Hills wanted 2.5K for MSRP guaranteed price.
It's all insanity............
If you're on a list, you'll be able to order an RS.
You may have to wait a bit. You might not be the first on the block with one, but I'm sure all here tha want one, will get one of the 1250 slated to make it here.
Welcome to the club !!!

Be careful with their guarantees...
Who did you put your list on. BTW, dealers right this second ...have no clue on the size of their RS4 allocations. Its all speculation right now. The larger dealers in the area..potentially could get 1-2 each for an intro...and one to two each allocation...probably similar to the RS6 ordering.
I know nothing for sure..the above comments are based on discussion with people who know stuff (honest knowledgeable salesman and (shush)...AoA staffers)..also a bit of speculation on my part.

one word of caution regarding list=car
just because you're on a list doesn't mean you're guaranteed a car. depends on number of people on list vs number of cars alloted. roughly speaking 3-4 cars per dealer for the entire allocation. someone from the "inside" implied the other day that there will be more than the 1250 or so but i am not too confident about that. though quattro GmBH has traditionally only made one model at a time, and this may change in the future, for now i don't see it happening otherwise. with the RS6 coming up (18 months) and the LMQ 12 months later i don't know...
as i've stated before, people back out of lists all the time and this may be what many latecomers will be dependent on (especially those that start coming out of the woodwrok with the first mag tests)

How can you have a sales order? You didn't buy anything? And there is no car to buy?
Someone gave you a paper saying you are number 2?
More power to you. Sounds like you are a:
Relative, family friend, multiple audi buyer from the same dealership or something along those lines.
I maybe wrong but the only real list is the one that you pay 500 dollars to PRE ORDER your RS4 and you walk away knowing what you're getting and a VIN number to match.
