Default Ti has higher melting point...

Than stainless (1420 celcius) which is used for headers and exhaust. 3AL is at 1700 celcius. Also 3AL is used on F-16's, missiles, and the space shuttle. Only point is this: You get props for making a Ti exhaust, no argument there, and there must be a logical reason why you use the Ti you use, and it must be cost driven, not application driven, because 3AL is better as tubing than 6AL, which actually loses its strength when it is rolled and seam welded. But since exhausts are not load-bearing, I guess it doesn't matter, so it comes back to price.

Default Ti alloy is stronger than

comparably sized steel or aluminum tubing. 3Al-2.5V Ti alloy tubing can go through more flex cycles before failure than steel or aluminum tubing of the same diameter. There are stronger metals, but you can't really make tubes out of them. Its used for its strength as well as weight (when used in load-bearing applications).

For this application, sure its got a high cool factor, but lets be real, to really reduce the weight of this car you have to rip out the seats, AC, radio, etc. out to make it appreciably lighter. The real question is whether the performance gains are there with this system, and since they don't make downpipes, all the testing will have to be on one car, multiple cat-backs, same down-pipes. If your selling a system for 4K, which is a premium price, as a consumer I would at least expect to see this data in a set of graphs as part of the sales pitch or "press-pack".
