Default eh, i think you are being really hard on it

the CL600 is its direct competitor. Both are 4 seat coupes that feature twin turbo 12 cylinder engines. Perhaps the Benz engine is a bit more refined, but the turbo W12 is no slouch. The Bentley has two major advantages over the Benz- AWD, and prestige. The second may sound silly, but consider that $150k luxo-coupes themselves are silly, and that this is probably a significant factor for buyers of this type of car.

Default I hear your point.

And if the way you want to look at this Bentley is two jetta engines, that's fine. But the W12 is a fine piece of engineering if you ask me. And mated to two turbochargers the thing is sickening fast. Not only that, but the power up top and at triple digit speeds pulls as fast as our cars do from a stop. The torque is massive.

My aunt drives a DB9. And it has ford parts in it. Granted, the v12 is a monster. But I don't see the Astron Martin as a ford parts bin car, even though it has ford parts.

But I'm not going to sit here and defend VW or Bentley. If you don't like the car that's fine. My advice is to spend a week with it. You learn a great deal about this car the more time you spend with it.

And just for the record, I find the lines on that car damn beautiful. But some say my car is just a wagon. ;-)
