Default Ah, not quite.

I paid $38,000 cash for a used 04 S4 with 6000 miles on it, in august of 05.

The guy who purchased it new, paid $54K. It was loaded and HE took the depreciation hit and gg tax.

Buying an every day driver car is never an investment.

Do a search on those who have written about their leases...the negatives far out weight the positives.

Default i've had 3 leases in the last 10 years..

Had a 95 VR6 drove it 3 years and made 4300 and sold it outright to someone at the end of the lease, 99.5 1.8TQ sold it at the end of the lease and made 2700... VW/AUDI has their residuals set right IMO. If you buy used then my previous post does not apply, that info was not known. I've never bought (sloppy) seconds : )

Default lease stuff...

You can also have someone assume your lease - either directly (and legit) - leaseswap.com and other sites.

Another option is a place like Celebrity Motorsports - it's a contract. I hit some rough spots financially, and did that with an 03 A4 3.0. Guy made every payment, and did insurance too. You run a risk, for sure - but my experience has been good.

I might be interested... but was looking for S4 Avant.

Default My advice: Lease a new car, but buy a used car....

Never lease a used car and I would be very hesitant to buy a new car. Just my opinion.

Default your reasoning is flawed. If you think you are not paying for the depreciation in your lease

you are misteken.

Default depreciation is always factored into every car..

i just dont believe in buying, i turn cars every 2-3 years therefore buying is useless....again IMO

Default I keep my cars untill they cost me money to maintain and in NY there are no true leased

they are all balloon payment "Smart leases" or something similar. But a new car every 2-3 years witl average mileage you should come out ahead...agreed (unles you get a cear with rediculous lease rates).

Default For some reason I've been lucky

Or I'm really good at negotiating leases. I leased my LR3 for a ridiculous price too but did buy my scion XB, and I drive the **** out of that. I don't like beating up the S every day
