Default Tint - Any recommendations from those in HOT areas

Moving to Houston from Boston in a few weeks. My car gets pretty toasty pretty quick even here in MA with the black interior. Any suggestions on what to look for in window tint...does it help at all? Just bought a windshield shade which helps. Will likely look for same grade of tint all the way around but would also like to know is there a type of tint in particular which gives more heat & UV protection.

Default 2nd

I live in TX and I've had it on my 2 S4's. It dramatically cuts the IR (the source of most of the heat).

The other thing you will learn in TX is how to strategically park your car.

Default Thanks! Any idea how much Huper Optik would cost? Ballpark?

Sent them an request for a dealer near my office in Houston. Looks like their US HQ is in Houston as well. I like the thought of using ceramic.

Not cheap. Great product though. I'll bet you'll pay somewhere between $450-$550.

Default I paid $360 but got a great deal and it was a couple of years ago.

Figure $400 is a good deal. Make sure you get someone very experienced. It's difficult to apply.

Default Very helpful - thanks. Have you all covered the 3rd light in the rear

or did you let them do a cut out for that? Also, has anyone had experience with less tint (50%?) that still kept the heat out?
Thanks again.

3m carbon is imho just as good and slightly more accessible and less expensive.
