Tire Dilemma

Tire Dilemma
All,
I have a bit of a dilemma and would like to get some feedback regarding tires. I currently live in NYC and drive the S4 everyday to commute to work. Also, I am planning to move to Florida next summer.
I'm know that I do not want to go through the winter on summer tires as I tried this once before and vowed to never do it again.
What tires would you recommend:
All Season
Winter
I'd also appreciate your thoughts on the tires you have used.

You'll get around fine in A/S tires this winter in NYC. Unless
there are huge snowfalls . Then no one will get around. They will also be fine on the street in FL. I suggest Conti Extreme Contacts, Kumho ECSTAs, or Pirelli P zero neros M+S. I have personally used the first 2.

Given your situation, I would probably go with A/S even though they don't work as well in the snow.
You might stand a better chance of being able to sell a set of slightly used A/S tires before you move. You certainly won't be needing them in Florida.
I live out west and we often have chain controls on the highways when it snows. Most drivers in CA have absolutely no idea how to drive in the snow, so CalTrans often errs on the side of caution and puts up chain controls whenever there is even 1" of snow on the pavement. I use Michelin Alpina M/S tires from mid-November through mid-March. CalTrans will not let A/S tires through the chain controls. They only allow AWD/4WD with M/S, or chains, and there is no way in hell I'm chaining up my S4.

True, just trying to gauge what others have used and experiences with A/S
I was looking to see what others suggest as possible A/S tires since I've never had to purchase any for a car of this caliber.

Pilot Sport A/S have served me well in RI on my B6/S4 and B7/RS4
Not as good as a dedicated Winter tire, but much better in the wet and dry, which we see more of than anything. They've also seen 2 days on the track at Watkins Glen and held up well.

Re: Tire Dilemma
Consider the Toyo Proxes 4's as a great All-Season High Performance Tire. They are W-Rated, and do very well in light to moderate snow on Quattro/4Motion applications.
