I posted before regarding a rattle in the front brakes when you drive over those small lane change bumps.
Response by all AW S4 B6 owners seemed to be that their cars did not make this noise.

Update:
My dealer could not figure out a fix for the rattle. They had me come in and test drive a new S4 on the lot to see if it made the same rattle. It did. Dealer tech. says it must be on ALL S4 models. My car was one of the first released, and the model on the lot was obviously a very recent release.

Here is how you make it happen:
Roll down front windows, drive over small lane change bumps at about 25-30MPH. (Turn off radio and silence any dogs/children) It occurs over any real jarring bumps. Please post after you try it. I don't think it is a coincedence that it would occur on these 2 cars only.

I had an S2000 before getting my S4 in February. I had aftermarket S/T brake pads on the S2000 and it would rattle when driving over the "cat eyes" and any bumbs for the matter. After bringing it to the dealer to get it fixed they told me that the aftermarket pads were a little "loose", and didn't fit a snug as the OEM's. Therefor the rattle a little when going over bumps.

there is none... get better fitting pads or live with it!

have that noise on this car and mine is an August 21 delivery Avant.

When I first got Stoptech brakes on my old B5 S4 the pads rattled until Matt explained to me how to fix the problem (make sure the clips are tight on the pads or raise the pad stop to make it so). Once I got the pads firmly in place the noise was gone.

I have no such pad rattle (or any other rattle) coming from the brakes on my Avant.

taking your center caps off and trying it? My center caps rattle but my brakes don't.
