Update on my "quad-tip" quest...Some thoughts.
Well, I learned that LaBree would entertain the idea of doing a quad-tip setup for my exhaust install this Friday, and I began looking into what options we have for this setup.
We have all heard Strat might be making a rear valence for us off of the B7s, but after some research I see that a direct replacement swap wouldn't work, as the rear valence is part of the bumper, is it not? Also, if it weren't, the B7 rear valence doesn't look like it would fit on the B6. The lines I see in pics just don't seem like they'd be equal lengths/widths, etc.
Then I thought about either custom cutting or aftermarket, and anything aftermarket is too over the top for my stealthy ride. I don't want any gills/mesh etc on my rear bumper, nor do I need a foot hold in my bumper to put luggage on the roof. ;-)
Custom cutting may look nice with a quality job, but then would I want a "wannabe" B7 with 4 tailpipes? That's one thing I never understood about the B5 crowd...why an RS4 front bumper with gills, europlate moldings, etc when it's simply not an RS4, even if it's faster with EVERY COMPONENT?? You're still a modified S4.
The "updated look" would be nice, but a bite off the B7 IMHO. If it were an extremely functional improvement over the B6 tailpipes, then we'd think about it. But it's just for looks. If the B7 had maintained the dual tips of the current S4s, then it would be something to consider.
If strat comes out with a great conversion, I think we're all going to think about it, but for now, a full stainless steel system with 102mm tips installed on Friday will be my setup! ;-D
Your thoughts?

The B7 has a valance insert in the rear bumper like the B6...

Beneficial for the FMIC?

well both bumper block off the top of the fmic
fmic aside, im talking about the side mounts. im sure the bumper has the gills for a reason. maybe a low pressure system helps pull air out and flows better to the ic's.
no one puts it on their car and claims they have an rs4... at least no one i know. im still torn on the mod.. i like stock look, i dont like modding the body, but at least its oem. i dont think it looks bad.

That's interesting. At least it's functional, but have you guys determined it in practice or just
theory?
I'm with you on that...I especially hate the europlate molding on the thing.
I personally think s4lynx's stock bumper looks a lot meaner with subtlety but maybe that's just me.

i read it somewhere.. i think on the rs4 press release
dont remember. i dont know if i would ever get it. if i did it would be the LAST thing i bought for the car, and it would be added along with a complete widebody rs4 conversion kit. thats IF i ever got it. (probably not, actually definetly not)
