using rs4 parts on s4's?
I am just thinking out loud here.
I am wondering if anyone has thought about utilizing rs4 parts on a b7 s4. For instance, upgrading to the new brakes, etc. Seems like this might be a popular mod if it works. It would be all OEM so that would be nice.
I am also wondering if the new 40/60 split diff can be retrofitted to a 50/50 b7 or even a b6. Wow, that would be a kick *** mod. I suspect there is software tidbits that go along with it that might make it difficult.
Shoot, and now that I am thinking about it, I wish I asked Christian on Fourtitude if the 2006 s4 will get any throttle remap capabilities.
Anyways, coffees empty..

You can get a 40/60 diff already and it has nothing to do with software it's all mechanical.
Anything that fits a B7 will fit the B6 except body parts.You will most likly be able to get a BBK for less than what the RS4 breaks would cost and the BBK would most likly weigh less.

Honestly I don't consider RS4 parts to be "OEM" in terms of availability and pricing.
Oh there may be some parts available that otherwise you couldn't get-- on my B5 I ran the RS4 extended length bellypan and almost got around to adding it's thermostatically controlled oil cooler.
But for brakes? I'm betting a nice Porsche stage 4 6 piston setup for $1899 will cost a lot less than what the RS4 uses, with cheaper pads and rotors to boot.
What I'm really interested in are the ODD parts that the RS4 will likely have. This will take time to discover. Rest assured, the RS series always has a slew of interesting things.
The B5 RS4 for instance had inner door brackets that you riveted into place. It increased the strength of the door skin to reduce noise at high speed. Maybe the RS4 has stronger hubs with bigger bearings, or better pedals, maybe different headrests, etc.
