Who else doesn't like the Avus wheels and wishes A of A offered something else?
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/12698/mms_11-3.t.jpg"></center><p>I never liked the Avus wheels from the beginning when they came out on the B5. They just seem too "blocky" for me. Supposedly the weight to strength ratio is very good.
I like thin spokes and liked the 5 spoke STARS that were on my 3.0. It was almost a deal breaker for me at my dealer. I asked for the RSs and they wouldn't go for it. I knew I'd have to drop two grand on winter wheels/tires and then another couple grand on summer wheels/tires. Anyway I got Mille Miglia 11-3s (above in 235/40/18) with the Blizzak LM -25s. I had MMs on my 3.0 and they served me well.
In April, I will have the MMs and Contis paired up Then, in 05 -06 winter, I am going to use the Avus for my winter set with the Blizzaks and then I only have to look at them for Dec to March. Maybe I can get another set if I hit the lottery !

Love the 5 spoke, looking for something similar but having just got my new black beauty, looking for something reasonable..think I'll take your lead and put winters on the Avus that I don't really like, play the lottery and get what I want in spring.

I dont understand why they dealers dont offer winter raden's like they do in germany...
Like an option on the car....winter wheel package from the factory.... The sites down so I cant check the price but last i looked it wasnt that expensive....
