But it seems somebody in VM (global marketing) back in Ingolstadt though Dr. Winterkorn would be happier to see ten times that many for a country as large as the United States. So the order was upped to 250 by somebody 4500 miles away from the market.

i've heard they'll make limited runs for one engine type and then move up to the next engine type but not both at the same time. i wonder how much time will elapse between the two.

Normally I'd say "once burned, twice shy," but with the ALMS TT and RS6 experiences thrown in that doesn't seem quite right,
