2013 A/S4 Facelift
#11
The B6 to B7 was not a redesign. It was an extreme facelift that has rarely occurred in Audi's past product history. (Also, the B6's first model year was 2002, not 2003). Generally, the A4 model runs have lasted six years before a true redesign. The 2012.5 or 2013 model will get the facelift, with new headlights, grille, trim, wheels, and likely some change to the engine offerings. A full resdesign is still several years away, as long as Audi sticks to what it has normally done.
It looked like a significant change from b6 to b7 to me. That's what I'm expecting for the next gen but what do I know . Not sure what constitutes a "redesign" to you.

I think what 'SFVA4' meant was that from B6 to B7, the engine stayed the same. Whereas B8 switched to V6 S/C, interior/exterior overhaul, LED DRL, modular longitudinal platflrm, etc... These are significant changes over B7.

Ah understood. Well in that case I'm clueless as to if they will change the engine on the next gen. I think the OP topic was about cosmetic changes that might soon be coming. I would hope they don't change the engine so soon, but I think Archer's concern was with cosmetic changes about buying a 2012 vs 2013.

I'm guessing the engine will stay the same for the 2013 refresh. This engine is still very new to Audi, it's being used in the new A6 and A7 with a detuned version. Also, I think the 3.0 S/C engine fits the S4 really well.
Minor exterior changes will happen such as A6 style headlights, grilles, Google Map GPS, some minor interior updates. Basically, it will be like B6-->B7 change. Price will likely increase a little as well.

I'm pretty sure it will simply be the headlight, front fascia (bumper and grill) to be more like the A6. Possibly even a full LED headlight option. I'm also thinking redesigned interior to reflect the design language of its entire lineup.

I agree with all about the grille, lights, and trim changing. Don't think the dash will be redone. That is usually reserved for a redesign. For the powertrain, there's always a chance more hp will be added to the 2.0T. It's very tunable and increasing horsepower during facelifts is common.

F! That is a long time to wait! Ahh the wife is tired of hearing me talk about the car, and it is getting really hard to justify waiting for the refresh. To make matters worse, Pacific Audi (So.CA) has that 0.9% 36 M 1.4% 48 M and 1.9% 60 M finance rate for a 2011 S4 that ends on July 5th. These finance rates are not going to be around when the economy comes back.
