Airbag light after removing and reinstalling front seats
Hi All,
I just got myself a used B8.5 S4, sorry no pictures yet until I have it detailed, and while cleaning the interior, I had to remove the front seats to get all that salt and other stuff from the previous owner cleaned up. After putting the seats back in and reconnecting everything, I'm now having the airbag light on all the time.
So I want to ask if I need VCDS to reset the light or am I forgetting something? I checked the plugs and they all seem to be fine, colour matching...any thoughts?
Thanks

I had the same thing when I fixed my bluetooth module and removed the front seat. I just cleared the codes. If you have something wrong, they'll come back pretty quickly I would imagine.

^^ Yes, looks like you'll need something to reset it:
ABS/ESP/AirBag Light after removing seat.

You can use Carista to check and clear codes also: Carista ? OBD2 vehicle diagnostics, customizations, coding & tools

You likely caused the problem when disconnecting the seat during removal. Error codes on Audis do not correct themselves when everything is OK again, you have to clear the codes.
So why not buy a code scan tool which will clear the code? It's about $30 for an Autophix scan tool on Amazon. And as you read stuff on this forum - it's an OBD II, as in Roman numeral II (or 2) not eleven (11) as many think.
A good investment which you will need with an Audi.

Ok thanks guys. I don't want to invest too much into it yet at the moment, not sure how long i'll keep the car to be honest...I list switching every now and then.
