Find the plate filler on Ebay and had painted black mat and clear coat .
To paint the plate they removed the chrome stip and put them back .I am very happy with it

So I gather that Audi doesn't make a matte black with chrome strips plate filler like you have on your car? If not, that is a complete shame since that is a great look and exactly what I am looking for...

I have an audi black one coming tomorrow from ECS. I have a grey one on there now, and another grey one sitting in my office.

@carguyrob You're in IL? Depending on what happens with this item I'm to receive tomorrow, I may have one or more black ones on the market. I'm in Chicago.

Yes ,it's a shame ,probably not a huge market for them .
Chrome trip are easy to remove ,the painter did it in the front of me .
cost me $60 to be painted (3 stage paint ,primer ,color and clear coat for more protection)

Interesting. I ordered the matte black from my dealer but didn't like the black strips so switch back to the grey (or "platinum" as they call it). From what I could tell, the strips were one way only (i.e. once they snapped in they weren't coming out), and the parts guy said there was no individual number for those. It didn't seem worth $125 to try and swap the strips only to break one and have to start over. If it's really that easy I might reconsider. Though I'm thinking painting it to match the grille or fog fins would be better and probably around the same price...

Yeah I'm debating glossy black, matte black or the Sprint Blue to match. Nice thing about this choice - it can always be repainted.

I haven't seen one in white, but it's not something I would want to do. My preference on Ibis would be the full black grill (possibly with chrome trim) but I haven't convinced myself to do the upgrade yet. In the meantime the black filler panel is a cheap and easy improvement. The only paint matched ones I've seen were on black and red. I loved the former but wasn't a fan of the latter. But obviously a personal choice.
