Considering an s4
Hey guys -
I'm new to Audi, but have been reading your forums for awhile now. Great stuff.
Anyway, I'm considering buying a preowned (maybe CPO) 11 or 12 s4 with under 20k miles, but I've got questions/concerns I'm hoping someone could clarify -
The closest Audi dealer is roughly 200 miles away. Should that be an immediate deal breaker? There is a local independent shop that specializes in imports and apparently does a good job, but obviously wouldn't be able to do any warranty work. Should I skip the CPO and get an aftermarket warranty to cover repairs after 4/50k that would allow repairs to be performed at any ASE shop?
Anyone recommend the 2012 over the 2011 (or vice versa) as it pertains to possible mechanical issues. If so, why?
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to AudiWorld!
It should not be a deal-breaker not having an Audi Dealer close by. Keep in mind depending on your annual driving you will probably be there may be once a year.
Most dealerships also perform warranty/maintenance inspections on Saturdays so you could make it a nice road trip and may be check out the area while waiting for your car to be finished.
I would certainly go with a CPO since you will get an extended warranty (6years/100k miles) which should give you some peace of mind.
I currently own my 4th Audi and I never (knock on wood)experienced any issues with any of them...just got my 2013 S4 and totally love it!

Especially if you are not near an Audi dealer, I would consider getting an extended warranty instead of a CPO. There are warranties available that actually give you better coverage than CPO. I would contact Bruce about an extended warranty: http://forums.quattroworld.com/q7/msgs/5779.phtml
