DIY - B8 S4 Oil Change
#13
Great writeup and pics, I watched the guys at European Automotive (a great local shop in my area) do my 10K change and BS'd with them while they did it - they are all Audi/VW guys. You did it all just like them, though they did call the local dealer and have a physical disptick brought over, they don't trust the MMI (can't blame them). It took a hair over 7 Qt for mine too, so you look good to go!

change at 10K??
Somewhat old fashioned also car was at dealer for a diff warning light (supposedly a com error only) and they asked if I wanted to have a recommended change done.
Anyway, oil was pretty black. Interestingly the 2007 2.0 engine with generally the same manufacturers maintenance schedule always wanted it's oil changed every 5K (mabye based on dirving style, exterior temps) or something. S4 doesn't seem to care
as for extractor, the S4 under cover takes about 2 minutes to remove, plug 30 secs.

T35 Torx, anywhere, please?
Hi -
I just got a new 2011 S4, and I'm interested in doing the oil myself. I've been all over the internet and local shops looking for a T35 torx. Does anybody have a spot I can order it from? I'm in Boulder, Colorado if anybody knows of a local shop. I even thought about asking the dealer if I can buy one from there.
Thank you!

Amazon
I got a set from Amazon that had the elusive T35 in it, though I'll check closely next time - the 6mm hex worked fine for me(not sure if all of the cars have the same drain plug) - changing the oil in this particular car is pretty easy
