got my new 2014 S4 yesterday!
...just wanted to say hi. just got my new S4 yesterday (right before the storm hit NJ). Traded in my 2004 that will be missed.
The new one is Prestige, S-tronic, Sport Diff
haven't driven the car much yet(waiting for A/S tires to arrive)
this will be my 4th S4!
two things i noticed that little upset me are no folding mirrors and lack or power outlet in the trunk. not a biggie though.
first mods will be upgrading fog light bulbs to a whiter ones and Vag-com to a newer model

Congrats and enjoy. My path from my 2004 S4 to current 2104 B8.5 had a 335i coupe and a 2010 S4 in between. I would think the differences between the B6 and B8 S4s would be significant. One thing that you have already noticed is that there are a few bells and whistles missing. Back in 04, the S4 was competing directly against the M3. Now the 335i is the direct BMW competition. As a result, Audi has downgraded a few of the features to keep the cost down. But they have been upgrading the standard features since 2010. Nevertheless, The B8.5 is light years better than the B6 in so many ways. Performance, fuel economy and handling are better. The gearing is just right for the 3.0 SC engine, Unlike the 4.2 v8 . The sport dif gives the car almost a rwd feel. some say the interior is cheaper, but I find it just fine. Especially when compared to the interior in the 335i. You may have fond memories of the B6 S4, but you will not miss it. Noticed you got a similar color to that on the B6. All my S4s have been bright red. 2 Brilliant red and a Misano that is really not that much different

Hey @DrGp, I remember you from B6 board!
never been a fan of new BMW interiors, but did considered 550x that ended up being out of my range.
- the difference between 10 y.o. car and brand new is always significant
yes, i did get similar colors to my B6 (i just like subtle look of grey) but went with leather inserts instead of alcantara. (i had to re-upholster driver's seat in my B6 so hoping for a better durability of leather)
i think i got lucky that dealer had color combination and options i wanted without ordering the car and painfully waiting.
the only option that i was considering i didn't get was adaptive suspension but i've read there is no significant difference.
haven't driven B8 enough to realize the difference in performance, can't wait for better weather and new tires...
thx

Nice! Congrats!
I picked up my S4 two weeks ago today, on a rainy night, and mine too, had condensation in the headlights that cleared by the next day.
Good luck!
