Got the S4 bug: just about to bite
I'm considering upgrading from my 2006 330i to a 2011 S4. The AWD is key for me now after last winter. Bimmer's don't offer a sports suspension with AWD and really the sports suspension is what makes a bimmer feel like a bimmer to me. Hence, why I started looking around and clearly (by a long shot actually) the S4 is the sports sedan to get.
I'm considering getting the following....
Meteor Gray / Black Nappa (I can't get myself to like any of the 2-tone interior options)
Prestige
19" wheels
Driver Assist
Sport Read Differential
Rear Sunshade
Gray Birch Wood Inlays
Rear Airbags
I'm going to start shopping this around. Any suggestions or feedback on the options? I'd probably do the tirerack thing at get some winter shoes too. Anything I'm missing or should be thinking about?
Thanks!

Looks good, though I hope you mean winter wheels also, 19 winters are spendy (and a narrower/smaller tire is preferable for winter traction).
I also suggest you do a test drive if you haven't already.

I'd pass on the drive assist (more things to break) and rear airbags but it looks good other than that. Look at the gray birch inlays in person before you order. They're... interesting.

Yes, by winter shoes I was meaning winter tires. Looks like I could get some 18" winter tire/wheel package at tirerack.com for between $800-$1000 depending on the setup.

Can't speak for the Gray Birch, but I'd say that the drive assist is a nice feature to have, it's been helpful so far and I expect it to be a bit more helpful for highway driving. I like the rear airbags too...added safety, I have them on mine. I know that they aren't safe for young kids, but I can guarantee almost 100% that young kids won't be riding in my car - and sounds like it for the OP's car.

I had the gray birch on my 04 S4 because it was that or Alum. Liked it well enough but CF became an option in 05. Got my 335i with gray poplar which really looked similar to gray birch because CF was not and still isn't available on the non M 3 series. Got the CF because I was just tired of not being able to get it and I like it. Not that the wood is bad. You will notice that the gray wood will have a brown tone to it when illuminated by bright sunlight. Otherwise it looks pretty gray in hue. Not that it is bad, but tying to let you know how the wood really looks.
