I got a better look at the box yesterday while I was installing my K&N filter. My SA had mention the O2 sensor while I was in last week and asked about the Strat. He is into modding everything he has too and was concerned about that.

I can tell the difference in sound with K&N vs Stock. Nice sound. can't really tell any dif in performance though. I would expect it is minimal at best. I will eventually get a strat after my other mods are done.

Thanks for all the input on this guys.

Just to be clear, there is no O2 sensor on the intake side. At all.

Default Which K&N Air filter fits?

The K&N website does not give a stock replacement -- only a generic cone. I am looking for the part number for the panel-type K&N replacement.

There is no panel type replacement. The car has a paper cone filter from the factory. The part number for the K&N replacement is E-1987.

I just installed the K&N Air Filter in my Audi A4 1998 1.8T and I can hear my Turbo spool up louder like it's getting more air. Whether or not it has made any substantial change, I'm not sure, but the design seems much better than the OEM filters.
