Lease vs own - level of care
For those of you who lease their S4's do you take care of them like you own them or don't care?
We leased our S4, but plan to take care of it as if we owned it (and may if we buy it at lease end). Our last three bimmers were lease and we bought them out, so during the course of the lease we took really good care of the cars.

I don't lease my S4 but I do lease my X3 and the S4 gets a better level of care than the X3, I wash and keep the X3 clean and do the bare minimum maintenance (although it is all paid by BMW anyway). I had a honda civic SI on lease before the S4 and I don't think I even washed it in 2.5 years of mostly hating it - changed the oil when required (twice I think) and didn't do one other thing to that car!

Agree with everyone so far. Lease/buy....it's still a car in my care and that I drive.
The ONLY difference is service intervals. For cars I own and plan to keep very long term, I change the oil much more often (I do the first change at 1000 miles after break in, then at 5000 and every 5000 after that.).
For a lease I do not plan to keep, I follow the manufacture's service allowances and schedules because ultimately it is their car and that is their choice.
