Paint Sealant and Multishield Protection
Multishield covers a number of things- tires and rims from road hazard, scratches to the rim from curbs, paintless ding removal on the sides of the car (no bumpers), and windshield chips. The paint sealant and multishield are $387 and $849 plus tax, respectively.
What do you think of these? I tend to be someone who would rather pay upfront early than be in for surprise costs later. Nonetheless >$1200 plus tax is a lot. One nice think is that the tire wheels coverage is for whatever I put on the car, so if I get a 2nd set of winter wheels/tires, they are covered.
Thanx
If you have a good wax that you applied you stand a much better chance of being protected. In the summers I wax every 4-6 weeks...if you don't want to protect the paint that often then you can put on a pain sealant...most of them will last at least 6 months.
You might get your money out of the wheel protection package...it just depends on how little of a scratch they will cover and how particular you are about your wheels. I'd ask a lot of questions about this insurance.
I skipped the 'multishield' as well, but that's a subjective insurance-type consideration, so may be of value to you.
Definitely consider a 3M Ventureshield or similar "clear bra" however. Mine has really saved me from a number of rock chips.
Thinking about trying it myself. I don't know what I would do if I never had to wax my car again.
Instead, take your car to a reputable detailer in the area for a true new car prep and have your car washed, clayed, polished, and sealed immediately and then invest in a clearbra. You'll be glad you did.

I have Opti-Coat on my car and truck and it rocks! You need to prep really well but it's easy to apply if you follow the steps carefully.
Looks as nice as a really good wax and it sheds water and dirt really well.
$50 or so for a syringe which is enough to do 2 full size vehicles.
The key is to make sure your paint is polished REALLY well before you do the coat. It seals everything in.
Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
I have a light gray interior and have yet to really clean my car in almost a year, and there is no bleed off in pants and jeans and dark colors on my seats. The exterior seems to ward off dirt and grime and things don't stick to my car. It's almost like a barrier is over the surface and it keeps it cleaner.
And the fact you only apply it once and it lasts for years.
I'm sure there are other products out there not as good and not much better than paste wax. Dealers have been selling paint and fabric protectant for decades.
But the Teflon simonize does work and it's a good product from my personal experience. I'm sure you can find it cheaper than what dealers charge and get something comparable for less.
As for clear bra, I think it looks horrible on a lot of cars when done to excess. I hate seeing a line run accross the hood of a car and it's stands out more then a few nicks and scratches. I'd clear bra the lower bumper and leave the rest of the car alone.
