Default Question on Audicare and wheel program

My S4 is going to be delivered end of April and was wondering what the groups thoughts are on Audi Care and the wheel program. I will be purchasing as I put about 15k per year. I understand that when leasing AC makes sense in that it saves a bit. thougts?

AudiCare is worth it if you plan to keep it for the ~50K limit and get it serviced at the dealer. What wheel program are you referring to?

I think he probably means wheel/tire protection coverage in the event you hit a pothole or something. I'd say you are better off passing on this, but AudiCare is worth it since you get more than half of it back on the 1% increased residual anyway. On a 3-year/36K mile lease, it will mean 2-3 additional services beyond the first oil change at 5K which is included regardless.

If you drive the car alot(15K a year is alot IMO) and are going to keep it I would get Audi care.

Most people should pass on the wheel/tire insurance IMO. However, I went for it because I have a history of bad luck with rims & tires. Killed 2 rims & 3 tires in one single road debris incident on my last car. It's insurance so hopefully I will never need it but I decided it was worth it for me. I'm likely an exception.

Wheels & Tires are most likely not needed if you're on 18s. 19s if you're in a bad city with pot holes.

BMW guys loves wheel & tire insurance here because low profile run-flat cost a arm and a leg on a puncture and you can't patch.

I am usually not a big insurance person, but opted to get both Audicare and wheel/tire package. The way the finance guy at the dealership explained the wheel/tire package is that the dealership will replace the wheel or tire should you do any damage at all. I don't know the extent of the damage that would justify full replacement but I would assume something drastic. With the 19s and the potholes in the metropolitan area, one bent rim would be worth the insurance. Plus I believe it includes a different roadside assistance package. I could be wrong though. I was so pumped to just drive the thing that night I didn't read the full details.

Just called up the Audi of Charlotte service department today inquiring about Audicare and Audicare Plus for my 2010 Q7 TDI. Currently asking $795 for the Audicare (coverage to 45k) and $1050 for Audicare Plus (75k).

I didn't bother with the tire package since Q7 tires are notorious for low life (similar to my '98 M3s penchant for eating up rear tires every 12k miles) since I usually end up having to buy new tires anyways regardless of road hazard. Only way around this on the Q7 is to swap with winter wheels and substitute a higher mileage compound.

AudiCare might be useful if one keeps the car for at least 5 years, even if low mileage, since the service intervals are every 10k miles or 1year, whichever comes first. The first 5k service is free. The brake fluid replacement is every two years. All service must be completed within 5 years of car in-service date.
