S-Tronic Transmission Malfunction WTF? My story (long)
So I drive my S4 for 3 weeks in August and the S-Tronic works flawlessly.
Then, on September 1, while walking to my car after seeing patients at the psychiatric nursing home I consult with a couple times a week, I have an apparent debilitating fall or possible seizure in the parking lot. As a result, I'm wrestled down by 5 of the staff - till the EMS helicopter gets there and zooms me to a hospital, where I have a nice 4 day visit!

Of course, my neurologist colleagues didn't want me to drive or see patients for a month while I get up to speed on anti-seizure medication. I'm actually lucky as some states don't want you to drive for 6 months after a seizure, though all of the medical tests: EEG, CT scan, spinal tap, ect. were negative for seizure activity. Regardless, after sitting at the dealership for 2 months, my S4 has been sitting in my own garage for close to a month - so I haven't had much of a chance to drive it recently! Fortunately, I have a neurologist appointment this Thursday, September 29th, exactly 4 weeks after the initial incident. Hopefully, hopefully, hopefully - at that upcoming Drs appt. I'll be cleared to drive again!
On a positive note, Audi of America, did make two car payments for me since they had my car for 2 months - even though I had a free loaner each month; an A3 & a Q5. I must say, that extra money has come in handy for me as I haven't seen a patient all September!
Meanwhile, my Audi dealership, Roger Beasley Audi in Austin, Texas, has been great; getting me those loaners; each with a full tank of gas! Better yet, they were the ones who suggested I ask AOA to make those car payments in the first place!!!
