S4 Cleaning
Ok - So I'm a complete newb with respect to cleaning a car as far as washing/waxing/polishing is concerned.
I'd like to ensure this car lasts over the long haul on the outside/inside and I've never felt that auto car washes do a decent job. As a result, I'm looking to do it all myself (for the first time ever).
I'm looking for recommendations on top quality cleaning products in the soap/wax/window/grille/tire/rim categories so I can keep my new S4 looking recently factory delivered.
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Check out..

Very comprehensive supply of just about anything you can imagine for car care. High end and lower end products.
I purchased the P21S Carnauba Wax.
I've also heard great things about the Dodo Juice Supernatural. I'd buy the $30 sampler before I bought the big jar. I hear you can get 1 or 2 cars out of the sampler.

I use MaGuires Wax with a small, damp sponge. Do this three times a year and my car still looks like new. Keeping a good coat of wax on is essential in protecting your finish from rain spots, road spray, and bird droppings. Glad you are taking the initiative. Just stick with it, as it's very easy to be excited in the beginning, but forget about it after the newness wears off.

Car Wash Video and other Sites
I thought this video was helpful: http://www.webridestv.com/showvideo.aspx?video=43655
My detailer recommended the Grit Guard system: http://www.gritguard.com/index.php/
Same detailer uses Gloss It products: http://www.gloss-it.net/index2.html
And here's another source for products/kits: http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.aspx

OP,
I was in your spot about two years ago when I bought my BMW M3. Some of the people here might not be a fan of M3post.com or e90post.com, but the resources over there are incredible.
Anyway, here are two very useful links that I used to get some initial information on technique and products:

As some others have mentioned, Detailer's Domain is a great place to shop for products. I'd also recommend chemical guys.
Detailing can be addictive!
Best of luck.
