Default Should I buy an S4 in the showroom?

Hello Audi Lovers:

Should I buy a car in the showroom? I know I can ask them how long has it been in the showroom; but they can always lie or semi-lie about it.

The only thing that I worry about is the battery -- people keep playing with the instruments. As far as the scratches/dents, I personally think that it's the same for a car in the showroom or lot.

Any advise?

Thanks,

Ask to see the invoice on the car, it will show what day it was dealer delivered plus or minus about a week. If it's been there 2-3 months or less I wouldn't worry about it. If it's been there longer than that, eh...probably nothing wrong with it still but I'd be a little more concerned.

Plus they probably move the car around at least to get other cars in and out.

If the car has the options you want then buy it..... if it doesn't than order one or look elsewhere. I am assuming that the car has not been test driven by a bunch of people?

is it reasonable to ask them to at least replace the battery?

12 miles? It probably hasn't been there all that long. The battery is covered for a year under the factory warranty so I wouldn't worry about it.

Default Buy it, if it has what you want. It is under warranty.

My car, which I ordered, was delivered with 37 miles on it, with no test drives.

I waited 3 months for my car and it had 36 miles on it right off the truck. 12 miles is nothing. They will not replace the battery- Its brand new!!!

I waited for my car for 99 days and when it arrived it had 21 miles on it. I have no idea why. I wouldnt worry about the battery either since it is covered under the warranty. Check the interior seating surfaces to make sure no one sat down with something in their back pocket that could have made a small hole that could become an issue later. If it has your options and is your color, I say go for it. Three months is a long time to wait, trust me.
