Correct, nothing is "injected" just the PSI on the hydrolic pump which powers the steering is lowered, so that it provides less assist and allows more feel and feedback to the driver.

what if you have a 6MT and not a S-Tronic?

I think it is the same for both MT and S-Tronic transmission, as the steering setting has nothing to do with the engine/transmission setting.

I cannot see how daily driving would impact sport diff at all, unless you do powerslides on corners going into work.

I tend not to powerslide my commutermobiles in the summer very much, but in the Boston winter nothing adds the fun to the commute than getting the back end to step around. Unfortunately, the Lexus IS350 skid control nanny steps in way too early and automatically reasserts itself soon after being shut off. I expect that skid control in the S4 will be a little more playful.

My MMI told me today "If you are going to drive this way all the time why not just put me in Dynamic mode, save me the hassle of switching and the pretense of Auto!"
