Default StopTech ST-60 BBK - the results

Ok, so I have my car in at Achtuning! for the ST-60 front BBK right now. As requested, a weigh in was done, and the results are in:

Stoptech BBK ST-60:
Rotor - 18.10 lbs
Caliper - 8.9 lbs
Pads - 2.6 lbs
Caliper Carrier - 1.5 lbs

Total weight - 31.10 lbs

Stock entire assembly (caliper, carrier, pads and rotor):

Total weight - 41 lbs

Total of 10 pounds PER CORNER unsprung weight savings.

Pics and impressions (as well as some metrics) later, stay tuned []

How much did the old squeal weigh? )

re: Pics and impressions (as well as some metrics) later, stay tuned

Do you have one of those accelerometer gadgets that can measure 60-0 (or 70-0 or whatever) stop distances? If I recall (from a test on a 2010 in R&T maybe?) the 60-0 distance was 114 ft which is already excellent.

Achtuning is closing out the sets of these for the B8 S4, at a crazy price. The original price for the kits (lines, pads, calipers, rotors (355mm, stock is 320mm), everything you need except fluid) was $3,195.

They are on closeout for $2,236.50

Here's the pics they took of the parts and weigh in - http://achtuning.com/new-products/st...r-new-audi-s4/

The Stoptech BBK from Achtuning includes stainless steel lines. Not sure why they wouldnt run them to the back as well as front brakes since this is a full brake replacement kit. The only thing it doesnt include is brake fluid.

And the kit for the GTI is only $1995.00

NWS4Guy and I both had front and rear SS lines and stoptech pads installed (as well as RBF600 fluid) prior to this.

I have been pondering on a BBK for quite a while myself. Looking forward to seeing NWS4Guy's setup this Saturday at our GTG!

Yes I had the SS lines for the last several months front and back. About all that would be left is slotted rears, which is almost moot unless you are tracking a LOT and it's usually wet, the rears only take on about 20 of the braking weight.

They come in black and gray, here's black on someone from QW who tracks a lot, he loved them -
