Trade 2010 S4 into new lease 2012 S4
#11
The B8 platform was first available in 2009. Assuming a 6-year life cycle the new platform would be available in 2015. I would think the S platform would be released 1 year later (as 2016). The refresh is just going through now. I wouldn't expect Audi to make the investment for 1-year.

Note that this lease if for 42 mos, not 36. Maybe the dealer is counting on the OP expecting the same treatment to really squeeze him dry on this car.

I see 740is being offered at essentially the same price once you include the initial fees. But I see an offer for the A6 3.0T P+, which I think costs about the same as his S4, also coming out to about $800/mo once you include the initial expenses. I guess the moral of the story is that Audis are much more expensive to lease than BMWs. I Anytime you are paying te full price of the car in less than 6 six years, I feel like you are getting ripped off.

The last Audi I owned, well rented, was a MY08 Q7 4.2. The lease was very attractive due to a very low money factor. At the time it was 0.9%. Coupled with a respectable residue value provided a monthly payment of $750. This was very good for zero down and an MSRP of $64k. Fast-forward to last year when it came time to replace it a similar equipped Q7 was $1075.
If you are planning on keeping the vehicle beyond the lease period a lower residual can help on the back-end. However the money factor is the key. Also knowing if Finance Mgr is marking up the rate (which is very common).

Existing: 2010 P+, Nav (w parking sensors), SD, B&O, 19", Carbon Fiber, S-Tronic
MSRP 53900, $739/mo 10k/36, $0 down, 14 payments left
Car=pristine, 14k miles on it
Residual=$29500
Offer: 2010 P+, Nav, SD, B&O, 19", Carbon Fiber, S-Tronic, Advanced Key, Parking Sensors (basically a 2010 Prestige)
MSRP $56,400, $639/mo 10k/36 $0 down
Given that I was planning on buying the existing car and keeping it for a couple of years, my math tells me it's a wash, which means for the same net dollars (and lower outlay and no risk), I'd be driving a slightly newer and better equipped car.
Anyone else get this?

Yes. But I traded it in at half way (17 payments left) of 36 months lease with 8k excessive mileage and windshield and paint damages on it. BMW won't do that w/o significant cost. Besides, BMW does have better lease plan in terms of actual payments - this can be seen comparing X5 to S4, which is way "too expensive" if leased. In my case, the dealer actually eats up (pays) $3255 cost to end my 2010 S4 lease.

My dealer told me about it (MY2013, not 2014). But if I hold the 2010 for 6 more months, I'll need to replace my brake pads ($616+Tax) and have (estimated) 20K excessive mileage ($5000 cost) plus premium added onto selling price of 2013 models. So, not good for me.
