What do you guys clean the exhaust pipes with?

Tailpipe cleaning
Thanks for all the suggestions. I just spent 45 minutes in the garage trying to get the black soot off my tailpipes with some pretty noxious wheel cleaner. Got some, but not all. Going to try the stainless steel cleaner and then wait until my order from Griot's Garage gets here with their wheel cleaner. Any other suggestions greatly appriciated!

It works great, got to use something tough to get all of that baked on soot off of the surface.

SInce I clean them every time I was the car or wheels...
… I don't have to use much in the way of abrasives, which will grind down the finish. I use a little spray of Griot's Engine Bay Detailer and wipe them off with my wheel cloth. Also, by the time I get to the pipes, I have done all four wheels with Speed Shine, so the cloth is damp. The soot wipers right off.
Aftermarket exhaust pipes are typically higher quality and may need a slightly different approach as noted so eloquently above :-)
The best part of this thread is the recognition that I am not the only one who cleans their exhaust pipe tips - I can come fully into the open with this compulsion ;-)
