I didn't know / notice before said thread, but I think afretes works for Audi, incl. in which is 'quattro GmbH' group company i.e. chances are Audi / quattro GmbH brought it his attention many years back

No its not! LLC is only 3 syllables and has some alliteration (repeated consonant sounds), while GmbH has 4 syllables with no alliterative help! Given my clumsy speech, GmbH is a royal pain!

Also, it is quattro and not Quattro, the latter is for shaving.
Autoweek published a supplemental magazine for their Nov. 30th, 2009 issue to celebrate 100 years of Audi. It detailed the birth and the progression of Audi.

Like Porche, Horch too was an engineer at Benz. In 1899, 10 years before the birth of Audi, he left Benz and started his own company, Horch Motorwagen Werke, in Cologne, Germany. But in 1909, Horch had an fell out with his fellow board members and left the company. Because the old company still owned the rights to use the name Horch, he had to find a new name for his new company.

Horch is German for hark or hear. It was the son of one of his new business partners who overheard the argument over what to call the company, suggested the name Audi, which is a direct Latin translation of word Horch, or "Hear this".

Horch and Audi will eventually re-unit as parts of the Auto Union in 1929, with DKW and Wanderer as the other two partners. The 4 companies were repesented by each of the 4 rings of the Auto Union/Audi badge.
