Winter tires
I'm glad I went with the snows.
This thing is an absolute blast in the snow. The acceleration from a standstill in the deep stuff is amazing! My friends and family are very impressed.
I'm running Yokohama W-drive size 225-45-18.

congrats on ur winters. i finally took the dive on winter performance tires and they are much better than my performance all seasons and it's a night and day difference. this season seems to have a lot more of the white stuff falling this year and the artic air made it much cooler than normal here in boston.

I have the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3's on my S4 and I have named the car "Snow Cat". BY FAR the best vehicle I've ever owned in the snow.
Quattro is amazing and the car is so balanced you can easily do power slides. It's a blast.

+1 on the Michelin PA3s. Great in snow, decent on ice, and still great on dry and wet. I did a car control clinic two weeks ago and was really impressed with the high performance of the PA3s.
While the car is nicely balanced, I also like the rear wheel bias to the torque distribution. You can get the back to break free and come around the front if you really push it in snow. Love it! Could never do that in the old S4 with its front wheel drive bias and heavy nose.
