Where is the charging pad located? Inside the center console storage bin, I presume?

Yes, it’s in the front left side of the storage area under the armrest. It’s easy to slide the phone on to the charging mat without lifting the armrest too.

It immediately notifies you on the center display that wireless charging has begun.

one very cool thing..,once you turn off the car, a voice notifies you that your phone is still in the car. It only does this if it’s on the charging mat when you turn off the vehicle.

How easy is it to access the portion of the console below the charging pad? I keep my sunglasses and work badge in the console, so I am constantly opening the console and removing items.

There is no 'below the charging pad. The charging pad is under the armrest in the storage console. It does take of about half of the storage area because you really wouldn't put stuff on top of your cell phone while it is on the charging pad. I would have preferred if they made the pad just forward of the cup holders in place of that little ledge. But oh well...

That's where it's located in the Accord. So I guess the console storage area is fairly minimal now with the charging pad.

Oh gotcha. That would have been awesome if it charged and connected to CarPlay without the USB. I think the new BMW 5 series is the only car that has that ability right now.

Wireless CarPlay is only in Audi's with the "next generation" MMI with the touchscreens (A6, A7, A8, Q8).

Probably with the refresh in a couple of years but I would like to say never because the dual-screen configuration does not work well, IMO.
