What other comparable vehicles have better sounding engine/exhaust? I like the interior/exterior sound on the 340i, but the car really doesn't compare in all other aspects to the S4. The MBZ C43 with sports exhaust sounds amazing, but is out of my price range

#1 - only one bag hook in the runk! And only one trunk light! (at least audi put back the power ouflet there)
#2 - steering paddles are plastic vs aluminum look in B8
#3 - seat buttons have no aluminum bezel vs B8
#4 - throttle response is not as fast vs B8
#5 - no s-tronic transmission

I was going to say the C43 is probably the only car in the class that sounds objectively better. And it sounds pretty good with stock exhaust IMO, no need for the optional pipes for that. Also, a stripper S4 is $50K and a stripper C43 is $55K. Add $1250 for performance exhaust if you feel you need it. That's pretty close, IMO, especially when you start working through the numbers at the negotiating table.
