Default alarm disable

I have a B9 S4. On a recent ferry trip the ship's vibration set off the alarm forcing me to leave the car unlocked. Is it possible to disable the alarm. I couldn't find anything in the manual.

Depressing, isn't it?

My B7 S4 had a switch in the drivers door pocket to disable the alarm. Now the B9 has nothing but a button for opening the trunk. Audi cheaping out again it seems. Maybe your dealer can ask "ze germans" what their solution would be?

Well, I guess I owe "ze germans" an apology.

There is a button to disable the interior sensors. Not sure it will disable the vibration sensors though, but at least there is a button now.

You can find it by opening the drivers door. Take your hand and follow the armrest from the window switches to the end of the armrest, and then over the edge and down a few inches.

Just above the red door light, you will find a button.

My A5 B9 SB does not have this button, but it definitely has the motion sensors. I checked a 2018 A5 SB at my dealer that had a mfg date of 4/17 and it has the button to disable the motion sensors. Mine was mfg in 7/17 & no button. The window sticker states Alarm system with motion sensors, and just to be sure, I put my dog in the back seat & set the alarm. Sure enough the alarm went off. Will give Audi a call, unless a forum member has already uncovered a solution. Thanks

Just found this in the online owner's manual(it is not in my paper owner's manual that came with the car).

Amazing what people find if they actually read the relevant parts of the manual! Simply amazing.

Crap, I almost always press the lock button twice. Kind of like smashing the clear button on a calculator a whole bunch of times.

Me three. Though I was more than two seconds. Just to be doubly cautious that the car is locked. I didn’t know about it deactivating the motion sensor though.
