Hello again everyone!

after my first successful 5 page thread of "Do I got for 18" or 19" wheels" I bring to you my next big debacle... how long does it take for an allocation to become available and production to begin?!?!?

the car was ordered from my dealer the last week of May. It's now June 17th and they still have no idea. I spoke with the GM and my sales Rep. A few days ago and they just said "soon" and could be any day.

At first I was told within 10 days of the ordering going in but now it's just taking so long and it's making me nervous. I was really hoping to get car by end of August but now who knows?

I sold my M3 already to someone who took it over so the wait is killing me!

I'm at the same situation. I put the order with the dealership on May 26th, and my sales rep put the order in the system on May 30th. I got the initial email stating that the order is in the system from Audi on May 31st. Nothing since then.

Sorry to hear that you sold your M3 already...I purchased mine on May 13th and the dealer still doesn't have an update.

From what I understand, the longest wait is from order being placed and car starting production and the shipping.


Guess all we can do is wait at this point.

If your dealer does not even have an existing allocation, then the wait for delivery can be even longer than the 100 day estimate typically given. I am not sure, but I think US dealers get their allocations around the 10th of each month. If true, that means the earliest your order would actually start moving through the system would be July 10th.

I am not sure on the S4, but I am told the S5 production shuts down in the month of August for a plant closure. I think both cars are made at the same plant, and if so, that will delay the order as well.

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but if it were me, I would want to know.
