Has anyone done the brakes/rotors themselves yet? I'd be tempted to do it myself unless there is anything on these cars that makes it more difficult than a standard brake job?

Do you need the vag-com to retract the rear brake calipers like on the B8?

Great question, if so it might be a good excuse to get a vag-com . Had one for my 2001 S4, but it plugged in to an old-fashioned serial port and I'm pretty sure it's obsolete by now.

I'm thinking the same thing. My HexCom from my 2013 S4 won't work and needs an upgrade to the current version. Ross Tech has been getting even more draconian with their policies though.

OBDEleven will also put the rear brakes in service mode if you have that
