S4 ambient lighting
Hey all
I just got an approved 2017 S4
I'm pretty excited about it, it's my first Audi, it's all good so far
It has ambient lighting option, however, I dont understand one thing in it
thought MMI, I can set the lighting to different colors, like blue , white, red , etc
I can go to individual and change the brightness and choose other colors as well
I can see the LEDs go on in the door trims, the foot area, the cup holdwrs
So when I did the test drive, I said alright it's all good
now what I see...
it just shows the color at the beginning when I change the settings, but then it goes away!
I dont see the lighting on while I'm driving or anything
so ... anything I'm missing here? Is it a setting? Or something malfunctioning?
Appreciate any kind of help here
thanks

I only see the lighting (and in my case I set it to red, white and blue and at Christmas I made it red, white and green) after dark -- I leave the light setting (the headlight switch to the left of the steering wheel) to Auto -- as it gets dark I notice the footwell color is either red or blue (based on the settings).

What Mark said.
The interior ambient lighting is only on when the headlights (or parking lights) are on, and even if you flip your headlight switch over from "auto" to "on" and have gone in and turned the ambient brightness all the way up, during the day you can only just barely see it and probably only if its cloudy out.
It's really only designed for use at night, and even then Audi designed it to be on the subtler side: the brightness slider therefore adjusts between "sorta subtle" (bright) and "is this thing even on at all?" (dim).
