Subwoofer Turned Off/Missing Simple Fix
#21
Q: What is a line output converter?
A: A line output converter, or LOC for short, converts a speaker-level output signal into an RCA preamp-level signal. This lets you connect the radio to the amplifier. It can also be used to connect a new radio to a car's factory amp.https://www.crutchfield.com/S-N5TaVJ...onverters.html

Oh, I find it intriguing and definitely worth further exploration. Even after my issue is fix.
I haven't had the chance to examine the factory amplifier yet, and I'm unsure of its location. Tomorrow, I'll update everyone on whether the purchased subwoofer resolves my issue. Fingers crossed it does!
If it does, I plan relocate the factory subwoofer to a different location instead of the factory location which under the bootliner.

I picked up my replacement subwoofer this morning, and it connected and worked right away. Now, I'm planning to rewire it for better phasing. Does anyone know if there will be a noticeable improvement after the rewiring?

I think you’ll see a noticeable difference but not necessarily an improvement. Meaning it’s subject to what you prefer best. Some folks like it “in-phase” while others the opposite. Try both and see what you like best. Changing the direction the speaker moves can certainly change the way the overall music sounds.

The B&O amp checks the resistance of the subwoofer periodically to make sure it's still plugged in. Most high level inputs don't put enough load on the line, so it fails the test and then the amp turns off it's outputs. You can either add a load across the + and - of BOTH outputs (with 2 resistors less than 40 ohms) or you can use VCDS or OBD11 to disable the presence check.

You tell it the driver is "not installed" and that disables the check. It will still play normally.
