Default "Another one bites the dust".Anyone have or know where to source a used low milage or rebuilt 6spd?

Victim to the 1-2 shift failure. :^/

At first the I couldn't get it to get in any gear but after a hard slam to 3rd and pulling it out a few times while driving, I now can use 3rd-6th. The car will be parked for the winter anyways but now I'll have to break out the checkbook again.

Any insight is welcome.

I'm considering the rebuild kit JHM offers for $1,199.00, + RS4 Clutch and PP and a resurfaced flywheel.

To be clear, a TIP is completely out of consideration. :^P

Default Good luck. Just got off the phone w/ Trans shop.....

$3600 in parts alone for the rebuild.
Now it's time to try to find a cheaper rebuilt one or nicely used one somewhere.

Default STaSIS offers a rebuilt trans for $2900 iirc...

and I think it includes a upgraded diff. They guys at Avalon can help you out, they are a STaSIS dealer. Talk to Brian 303-400-3001

http://www.stasisengineering.com/Thumbnail_Preview.aspx?ID=10&YR=2001&MK=Au di&MD=S4&EN=51</a

Default Common issue, happens to all of us eventually. Good news is that the solution isnt...

a little blue pill.

We have over 100 rebuilt STaSIS transmissions out running around plus many more close ratio setups. Fix once and fix it right. Give us a call or any STaSIS dealer in your area and we can get you back on the road.
